1. Who we are

This site is operated by Magaji Law of [address], Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria ("the Chambers", "we"). The Chambers is the data controller for personal data collected through this site, and processes it in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 (NDPR).

2. What we collect, and why

Verdict requests. When you request a document verdict we collect your name, email, phone number (if given), your description of the land, and the transaction documents you upload. We process these to perform the verdict service you have requested — a contract-based lawful basis — including conducting registry and court searches, corresponding with you, issuing our fee note, and delivering the verdict letter.

The Approach. When you privately offer land for examination we collect your name, email, phone number (if given), claimed capacity, parcel description, location, size, title type, price expectation (if given), disclosed disputes or encumbrances, and the documents you tender. We process these to conduct the Preliminary Screen, decide whether to accept a mandate, run the Seven Gates if mandated, correspond with you, maintain the chambers record, and produce anonymised defect-pattern statistics under LD/SPEC.003 where the offer is declined. The offer record itself is never published.

Folio enquiries. When you enquire about published inventory we collect your name, email, phone number, and message, processed to respond to your enquiry and conduct the transaction if it proceeds.

Status checks. Status lookups use your reference and email solely to locate your request; lookups are logged for security.

Technical data. Our infrastructure records IP addresses and request metadata for security and rate-limiting purposes, on the lawful basis of legitimate interest in protecting the service.

We do not sell personal data, serve advertising, or use the data collected here for any purpose beyond the service requested and our professional obligations.

3. Documents you upload

Transaction and offer documents frequently contain personal data about you and third parties (vendors, family members, prior holders). We process such documents solely for the requested chambers purpose, hold them in private object storage, deliver them only through an authenticated administrative route, treat them with the confidentiality attaching to chambers work, and do not publish them. Where a plot proceeds to publication as a folio, the public page discloses only what LD/SPEC.001 requires — including the holder of record's name where the public registry already discloses it.

4. Where data is stored, and who processes it

Data is stored with our infrastructure processors: Vercel Inc. (hosting and private file storage), Neon Inc. (database), and Resend Inc. (transactional email), each processing on our instructions. These processors may store data on servers outside Nigeria; we engage them on terms consistent with the NDPA's provisions on cross-border transfer. Purchase monies are never processed on this site.

5. Retention

Verdict files and folio records are retained in line with the Chambers' file retention policy and the retention expectations attaching to legal practice records in Nigeria, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Security logs are retained for [12] months.

6. Your rights

Subject to the NDPA, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or a copy in portable form, and you may withdraw consent where processing rests on consent. Note that data we must retain to discharge professional, regulatory, or legal obligations (including completed verdict files) may be exempt from deletion for the applicable retention period. 7. Security

Documents and records are held on access-controlled infrastructure; administrative access is restricted to the Chambers and protected by authenticated sessions; submission endpoints are rate-limited. No internet service is perfectly secure, and we ask that you upload only the documents relevant to your request.

8. Children

This service is directed at persons of full legal capacity transacting in land. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

This notice is amended by successor versions published on this page, with the version and effective date stated above.
